Episode 42- Rugrats
Nickelodeon is synonymous with the 1990s, and Rugrats is one of the very first original animated shows produced by Nickelodeon. It’s also…an animated show about babies and terrible parenting. Wait, what? How was that a thing? Well, it was. Don’t question it. We can only imagine what the pitch for this show looked like. Whoever would have thought that a children’s cartoon about babies and negligent parents would go on to sprout multiple films, over a decade of children’s television, and be considered one of the cornerstones of 1990s animated programming? How do adult Sean and Chris feel about the parenting practices of the Pickles family? Decades of time may have changed our minds about this show. Or not! As is all too often the case. Join us and we’ll all figure it out together.
